What’s a porcelain ball?
Porcelain ball is a kind of spherical object made of ceramic material, which is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, chemical fertilizer, natural gas and environmental protection industries, is mainly divided into filler porcelain ball and grinding porcelain ball two categories.
Types of porcelain balls
1. Filler porcelain ball: usually made of inert alumina, widely used in petroleum, chemical, fertilizer, natural gas and environmental protection industries. They are used as cover supporting materials and tower fillers for catalysts in the reactor, and have the characteristics of high temperature and high pressure resistance, low water absorption and stable chemical properties. The porcelain ball can increase the gas or liquid distribution point, support and protect the active catalyst with low strength.
2. Grinding porcelain ball: used for ball mill, pot mill, vibration mill and other fine grinding equipment grinding body, with high hardness, large volume density, corrosion resistance and other advantages, its crushing efficiency and wear resistance is much better than ordinary stone or natural pebbles, widely used in ceramics, glass, enamel, pigments, chemicals and other industries.
The main features of porcelain ball
The main features of porcelain ball include high temperature and high pressure resistance, low water absorption and stable chemical properties . It can withstand corrosion by acids, alkalis and other organic solvents, and can withstand temperature changes in the production process
The main ingredient of porcelain ball
The main chemical composition of porcelain ball is composed of aluminum oxide and silicon dioxide, porcelain ball is mainly made of ceramic raw materials, generally including kaolin, feldspar, quartz and so on. Kaolin is a kind of clay or clay rock dominated by kaolinite group clay minerals, which can provide good plasticity and fire resistance for porcelain balls. Feldspar is an aluminosilicate mineral of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal with a frame structure, which helps to reduce the sintering temperature and improve the mechanical strength of porcelain balls in the production of porcelain balls. The main component of quartz is silica, which can enhance the hardness and wear resistance of porcelain balls.
